Nexen to Drill Exploration Well at Haltenbanken

Nexen Exploration Norge AS received consent from Petroleum Safety Authority to carry out exploratory drilling for well 6507/8-8 in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The Songa Delta semisub will drill the well in 1,079 feet (329 meters) of water. Drilling should commence in mid-January 2011 and last for up to 75 days. Nexen operates Production License 434, holding a 49% interest. Partners in the license include Noreco ASA, Concedo ASA and E.ON-Ruhrgas Norge AS
