Xodus Group Appoints Industry Experts to Wells and Subsurface Division

Xodus Group is gearing up for a busy year ahead with the appointment of two industry experts to its rapidly growing Wells and Subsurface division.

Gill Sykes, (52) has recently taken up a new position as Global Head of Geoscience, bringing an immense technical and specialist background to Xodus as she celebrates over 30 years in the oil and gas industry.

Sykes joins from Bridge Energy (formerly Silverstone) where she has worked as a Geology Manager for the past four years. She is a highly motivated technical geoscientist who has wide experience in key positions ranging from technical contributor through to management in exploration, development, product environment and reservoir management in the UK and Europe.

Simon Allison (38) has been appointed as Global Head of Production Technology and has over 15 years experience in senior roles with an oil and gas operator, consultancy and service management companies in the UK and USA.

The duo are now undertaking a recruitment drive to create a dynamic team of highly skilled petroleum engineers and geoscientists to strengthen the company's position as a leading provider of environmental and engineering services to the energy industry.

Sykes explained, "With the addition of a Wells and Subsurface capability, Xodus Group is in the unique position of being able to provide a consultancy service covering all aspects of field development, as well as providing strong support for its other integrated services and divisions."

Prior to this, Mrs Sykes held a variety of senior posts at Hess Corporation in Aberdeen, London and Denmark including Technical Resource Manager, Technical Learning Project Manager, Reservoir Development Manager, Exploration Manager and Senior Exploration Geologist.

She began her career as a geologist at Amoco in London following a degree in Geography and Geology from Sheffield University.

She said, "I am excited by this new challenge and joining Xodus Group gives me the opportunity to work closely with other engineering and environmental specialists to deliver true cross-discipline solutions. This 'reservoir to refinery' approach is both new and unique."

Allison studied B.Eng Mechanical and Offshore Engineering at the Robert Gordon University and began his career with Baker Oil Tools as a graduate completions engineer. Following this he went on to work with Amerada Hess for 10 years in a range of leading roles including senior petroleum engineer and senior production engineer.

Later he joined consultancy Eclipse Petroleum Technology as Engineering Team Lead and before joining Xodus he was Production Technology Lead with Axis Well Technology.
