Afren Deems Okwok Field 'Commercially Viable' Offshore Nigeria

Afren announced that results from the Okwok-9 appraisal well are consistent with the subsurface model and in line with pre-drill expectations. The well found 35 feet (11 meters) of net oil pay in the D2 reservoir sands with an average porosity of 30% and tested 31 degree API oil at sustained rates. Work is now focusing on defining the next steps in the ongoing evaluation of the field. The Okwok field is situated on OML Block 67 in 131 feet (40 meters) of water offshore Nigeria and was drilled by jackup GSF High Island VII.
