Chevron Resumes Flow at Alba
Chevron said it resumed production at the Alba Northern platform 2130 GMT Thursday, after detecting a gas leak Wednesday.
The leak was quickly brought under control and all 135 personnel on board at the time have been accounted for with no injuries, reported Chevron. Emergency shutdown systems were activated and functioned correctly.
The Health & Safety Executive has been informed and investigation is under way.
The Alba field is located in block 16/26, in the UK sector of the North Sea, 130 miles north-east of Aberdeen.
