AMEC Awarded FEED for Maersk's Curlew FPSO

Maersk FPSOs has contracted AMEC to carry out front-end engineering design (FEED) for modifications to the Curlew floating production storage and offloading vessel in the UK sector of the North Sea. This project is intended to extend the life of the Curlew field, focusing on the Curlew D gas condensate field. To maximize recoverable reserves from the Curlew D reservoir, the FEED study is intended to evaluate the feasibility of a reduction in pressure of condensate arriving at the Curlew FPSO. The Curlew field is located in the central North Sea on UK Block 29/07, which is east of Aberdeen, UK, in 302 feet (92 meters) of water. Shell UK owns 50% interest and Esso Exploration & Production owns the remaining 50%.
