Serica Spuds Marindan Well Offshore Indonesia
Serica has spudded the Marindin-1 well using the Trident IX jackup in the southern part of the Kutai PSC offshore East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The well is targeting five separate multilayer clastic and carbonate reservoirs of late Miocene to early Pliocene age in the interval from 4,593 to 11,483 feet (1,400 to 3,500 meters). The well will be deviated at a maximum angle of about 30 degrees in order to reach each target at the optimum subsurface location. Marindin is located in 180 feet (55 meters) of water and should take about 30 days to complete. Serica operates the Kutai PSC and holds a 30% interest. Partners in the license include Salamander, 23.4%; KrisEnergy, 24.6%; and PT Ephindo, 22%.SubseaIQ provides focused, in-depth coverage of offshore field development activities around the world, with daily updates on hundreds of offshore fields and facilities.
