The Viola North exploratory well has reached total depth, and while the Fulmar sand formation was encountered, hydrocarbons weren't present. The well will be plugged and abandoned as a dry hole. Drilled by the ENSCO 100 jackup, the well reached a depth of about 16,000 feet (4,877 meters).
