Sonatrach Joins the International LNG Alliance

The International LNG Alliance (ILNGA) announced that Sonatrach has joined other leading liquefied natural gas companies as the newest member of the International LNG alliance.

ILNGA Executive Director, David Sweet stated that "Sonatrach's extensive experience as the first exporter of LNG to North America will help the Alliance educate policy makers and the public about the safety and use of LNG."

Mohamed Meziane, Sonatrach's chairman said that "ILNGA will play an important role in facilitating the dialog between industry and government in the U.S. and around the world. The LNG Ministerial Summit is an important step in creating awareness about the role LNG can play in meeting the energy needs of the United States." Sonatrach is the largest LNG producing company in the world.

The International LNG Alliance represents companies involved in all facets of the LNG industry. ILNGA members provide a majority of the LNG used in North America. ILNGA works to promote and advance the safe, reliable, cost effective and environmentally sound use of liquefied natural gas and development of LNG infrastructure.
