OGTC Launches Events to Inspire Culture of Innovation in Scotland
The Oil & Gas Technology Centre has launched a series of weekly events to help inspire a culture of innovation in the North-East of Scotland.
The ‘Tech20’ events, which take place in the Centre’s Innovation Hub, will feature expert speakers giving insights into particular technologies, themes or business areas. Open to all ages, events include a 20-minute talk, 20 minutes of Q&A, and 20 minutes for lunch and networking.
“Inspiring a culture of innovation in North-East Scotland is one of our goals and we hope our Tech20 series will do just that. People from all industries and walks of life can come to the Innovation Hub every Friday to hear something new, surprising or challenging,” Stephen Sheal, external relationship director for the Oil & Gas Technology Centre, said in an organization statement.
“We’ll invite the brightest and best speakers to share different perspectives, insights and challenge the status quo. We want to engage people in the possibilities and opportunities to transform the oil and gas industry and create a bright future for the region as a thriving technology hub,” he added.
The Tech20 series kicks off Friday 23 February, with John Hunter, emergent technology director for Tendeka.
The Oil & Gas Technology Centre is a not-for-profit, industry-led, technology research and development organization based in Aberdeen. It was established in October 2016 with $252 million (GBP 180 million) funding as part of the Aberdeen City Region Deal.
