Oceaneering Bags Multiple Contracts in UK, Norway

The United Kingdom (UK) subsidiary of Houston-based Oceaneering International, Inc. has bagged several contracts in the North Sea.
Oceaneering International Services Limited has secured multiple contracts for decommissioning, inspection, subsea preparation, and installation support services in the UK sector of the North Sea, the company said in a news release.
The contracts were awarded by multiple operators in the region and total an estimated 65 days combined, with options to extend the contract durations, Oceaneering said. The operators and the financial details were not disclosed by the company. The contracts will be managed and executed from Oceaneering’s UK North Sea hub in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The operations will be supported by utilizing the multiservice vessel (MSV) Island Frontier, which Oceaneering has previously operated in West Africa and the Black Sea. Oceaneering has extended its charter for the MSV Island Frontier until December 2025, securing vessel capacity to meet client needs, it noted.
Javier Falcon, Senior Manager of Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group, Europe and the Middle East, said, “These contract awards are a significant achievement as we strategically target growth in a key regional market. Our advanced product and service portfolio allows us to deliver cost-effective solutions, and these awards are the culmination of strong engagement with key clients in the region. We are confident that these projects will allow us to showcase our expertise and execution capabilities".
Meanwhile, Oceaneering’s Norwegian subsidiary, Oceaneering AS, has secured an inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) support services contract with Aker BP ASA.
The initial contract duration is three years with a couple of two-year options to extend. Oceaneering will provide onshore and offshore IMR project support to vessels contracted by Aker BP operating on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, according to an earlier news release.
Eli Løberg Mellgren, Director of Oceaneering’s Offshore Projects Group, Europe and the Middle East (EME), said, “Being awarded the IMR support services contract from Aker BP is a significant achievement. It enables us to leverage our advanced product and service portfolio to deliver a cost-effective solution with a reduced carbon footprint and minimized HSE risk. We are excited about the opportunity to work closely with Aker BP and are confident that this project will lead to mutual success and opportunities for innovation".
Oceaneering has been operating in the UK and Norway for more than 50 years. The company is “setting a benchmark for delivering high-quality professional services across industries including life of field services, controls, inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR), decommissioning, intervention, flow assurance, subsea engineered solutions, asset integrity management, data and communication solutions, subsea equipment, and ROV services,” it said.
