Ocean Installer Secures 'Substantial' Contract with Statoil

Ocean Installer revealed that it has secured a ‘substantial’ contract with Statoil ASA for marine operations on the Johan Castberg project in the Barents Sea.

The contract, which is described by Ocean Installer as ‘significant in size’, will be managed from the company’s Stavanger office.

“The Johan Castberg development will be one of the most significant projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, and we are naturally very pleased to be a part of it,” Ocean Installer CEO Steinar Riise said in a company statement.

“Our team has been working in close cooperation with Statoil on the FEED-study for Castberg since April of 2016, and to see our work pay off now is very satisfying,” he added.

Ocean Installer will be involved with Johan Castberg throughout the entire development phase, until the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit is hooked up in 2022.
