NPD Grants Spirit Energy Drilling Permit for Well Offshore Norway
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Spirit Energy Norge AS a drilling permit for well 6506/9-4 S, located offshore Norway in production license 433.
Well 6506/9-4 S will be drilled around eight kilometres north of the Smørbukk field using the Island Innovator drilling facility.
Spirit Energy AS is the operator of PL 433 with an ownership interest of 51.7 percent. The other licensees are Faroe Petroleum (28.3 percent) and PGNiG (20 percent). The area in this licence consists of a part of block 6506/9 and a part of block 6506/12.
Production license 433 was awarded on 16 February 2007 in APA 2006 on the Norwegian shelf. This is the second well to be drilled within the license.
The permit is contingent upon Spirit Energy securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing drilling activity.
