Halliburton Confirms More Layoffs in Oklahoma

Halliburton has confirmed job cuts in Duncan, Oklahoma, just days after closing a facility in El Reno, Oklahoma.

“We’re making adjustments to [the] workforce in Duncan due to local market conditions. We value every employee, but unfortunately we are faced with the difficult reality that reductions are necessary as we work to align our operations to reduced customer activity,” Halliburton spokesperson Emily Mir said in an email sent to Rigzone.

The layoffs are at Halliburton’s technology and manufacturing division in Duncan. Halliburton is not releasing the number of layoffs in Duncan, but did confirm they will not impact any potential transfers from the El Reno office.

Earlier this week, Rigzone reported on Halliburton’s shuttering of its field camp in El Reno, which resulted in layoffs of 808 employees. The El Reno facility housed the company’s remote operations command center and frac crews.
