Evolution Well Services Inks 2-Year Electric Frac Deal
Evolution Well Services (EWS) has landed a 24-month deal providing electric hydraulic fracturing (fracking) services to an unnamed onshore oil and gas producer beginning this quarter.
EWS, based in The Woodlands, Texas, uses fleets powered by locally produced natural gas-burning turbine generators as opposed diesel-powered generators.
“Our clients are facing increasing pressure to perform more economical and sustainable completion operations on their assets. This agreement illustrates acknowledgment by yet another leading E&P company that our technology achieves both of these goals,” said Carrie Murtland, EWS’ vice president of technology and marketing. “Evolution continues to lead innovation in electric frac and has proven that our fleets are not only a viable solution but are the ideal solution.”
The company said its fleet reduces the footprint, emissions and noise given off by a traditional fleet.
By using locally produced natural gas as a fuel source instead of conventional diesel fuel, EWS said it conserves 5.5 million gallons of diesel per fleet, each year. This is equal to up to $1.5 million savings per month, per fleet.
