EnerMech Secures Multimillion Deal with Major E&P Firm

EnerMech has secured a contract to become the preferred provider of flexible hose assembly (FHA) and small bore tubing (SBT) management services for an undisclosed major E&P organization’s United Kingdom (UK) assets.
The agreement, which has a duration of a minimum of five years, focuses on the management, maintenance, and inspection of FHA and SBT systems, ensuring asset integrity, production up-time and operational efficiency, Enermech said in a news release. Its services include monitoring the condition of hoses and small bore tubing in accordance with stringent safety and operational standards.
The exact financial details of the contract were not disclosed, although EnerMech said it was a “multi-million-pound” deal.
EnerMech said it will also optimize the overall performance of FHA and SBT services, including the management of all necessary repairs and replacements.
EnerMech CEO Charles Davison Jr. said, “This award reflects our unwavering commitment to consistently delivering high-quality services to ensure asset safety and performance. This new contract as the preferred provider across all the operator’s offshore UK installations demonstrates the trust they continue to place in our expertise, leading to successful and reliable outcomes”.
David Farquharson, Head of Hydraulics at EnerMech, said, “Winning this contract following a competitive tender reinforces the strength of our integrated technical services and our role as a leading provider in the hydraulics market within Europe. We look forward to working with our client to maximize production up-time and efficiency of assets”.
Meanwhile, EnerMech has completed a milestone pre-commissioning project for an undisclosed major U.S. energy infrastructure company in the Gulf of Mexico.
The contract, which was first awarded to EnerMech in August 2023, was completed over an 11-month period and saw the business deliver its first-ever 10,000 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM) nitrogen spread in water depths of 8,800 feet.
EnerMech said in an earlier news release it provided a turn-key service covering the delivery of specialized services for oil and gas export pipelines for the midstream operator, which included chartering three light construction vessels (LCVs), coiled tubing and the design and fabrication of pig launchers and receivers.
Services for both the oil and gas export pipelines include flooding, cleaning, gauging, hydrotesting, and dewatering, the company said. EnerMech deployed its in-house designed remote flooding console (RFC) and subsea test pump (STP) to manage free flooding and hydrotesting at a water depth of 8,800 feet. Further, multiple high-flow triplex pumps were utilized for hydrotesting the oil export pipeline, according to the release.
Davidson said, “We are extremely proud to have completed this project, with a number of significant achievements accomplished along the way. The quick and efficient undertaking of these services to the highest standard is testament to the ability and dedication of both our team in Houston and the strong relationship built with this major U.S. midstream operator”.
Frazer Thomson, Vice President – Operations (Americas) at EnerMech, said, “This success not only highlights our deepwater expertise but also our commitment to delivering turn-key solutions for clients to overcome complex challenges. We have a strong track record in the Gulf of Mexico and a deep understanding of the region which enabled us to identify and deploy the most suitable solution for our customer”.
