DeepOcean Secures IMR Contract on UK Continental Shelf

DeepOcean has secured a five-year frame agreement with a UK-based operator to provide diverless subsea inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) services on the UK continental shelf (UKCS).
DeepOcean said in a media release two call-offs have now been executed for offshore work since the contract award.
In addition to the five years, the agreement includes five one-year extension options, which push the maximum contract duration to ten years. The agreement covers subsea IMR work on the UK continental shelf for which DeepOcean will also provide associated project management and engineering support, the company said.
“Subsea IMR represents the core of DeepOcean’s competence, technology, and tool pool, which is tailored to help operators conduct subsea operations as safely and cost-efficiently as possible. We look forward to developing a strong relationship with the client, that has a broad UKCS portfolio, over the coming years”, said Oyvind Mikaelsen, CEO of DeepOcean.
“This contract was a key target for DeepOcean and we believe the award acknowledges our team's expertise, our diverless technology and tooling, and the innovative solutions we can offer into the IMR market”, Robin Mawhinney, Managing Director of DeepOcean UK, said.
DeepOcean said it will manage deliveries under the frame agreement from its office in Aberdeen, UK.
The latest contract follows a contract extension with Diavaz for the vessel Arbol Grande, which will work on IMR services in Mexico for the next five years.
Arbol Grande, delivered in 2003, is a construction and subsea vessel with custom specifications designed for the Mexican market. It has served as an accommodation and topside maintenance support vessel for various IMR contracts, which included saturation and air diving, along with other light construction support operations, according to the company.
