The project is expected to reach peak output of approximately 22,500 barrels of crude oil per day in 2022, according to CNOOC, which revealed that a total of 57 producing wells are planned at the asset.

Bozhong 34-9 is located in the south of Bohai Sea and has an average water depth of 59 feet. CNOOC holds a 100 percent interest in the asset and acts as operator.

In December last year, the company announced that the Liza field offshore Guyana had commenced production ahead of schedule. The Liza Phase 1 development project, which is located in the Stabroek block offshore Guyana, is expected to reach peak production of approximately 120,000 barrels of crude oil per day in the coming months, according to CNOOC.

Back in November, CNOOC announced that the Caofeidian 11-1/11-6 oilfield comprehensive adjustment project had commenced production. The project is expected to reach peak production of approximately 28,700 barrels of crude oil per day in 2021, CNOOC revealed.

The CNOOC Limited Group is the largest producer of offshore crude oil and natural gas in China and one of the largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies in the world, according to the company’s website.

In November last year, the company announced that Xu Keqiang, an existing executive director and president of the business, had been appointed as the chief executive officer.

Born in 1971, Keqiang is a professor-level senior engineer. He graduated from Northwest University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Oil and Gas Geology and received a master’s degree in Coalfield Oil and Gas Geology from Northwest University in 1996. He was appointed as an executive director and the president of the company in April 2017.
