'Clear Challenge' in Permian Relates to Shortage of Available Takeaway

Ray Ballotta Jr, Deloitte LLP partner for mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, agreed that companies in the Permian are facing the challenge of crowded pipelines. The Deloitte representative also suggested that labor shortages and supply chain constraints were additional issues that companies in the region had to deal with.

“These challenges, which are largely a by-product of the Permian’s exponential growth in recent years, will likely result in short-term pain,” Ballotta Jr. told Rigzone.

The Deloitte partner revealed that rising service costs and unforeseen drilling delays, due to either workforce shortages and/or an inability to secure supplies, were some of the types of ‘pain’ that could occur.
