CHC Reaffirms Commitment to North Sea Energy Sector
Helicopter services company CHC has broken ground on a $6 million redevelopment of its Aberdeen base, reaffirming its long-term commitment to the North Sea energy sector.
The company’s regional director for EMEA, Mark Abbey, was joined by the CEO of industry body Oil & Gas UK, Deirdre Michie, for the official ground-breaking ceremony. CHC’s redevelopment project includes upgrades to the terminal, including improved lounges, a new operations center and hangar.
CHC’s Aberdeen terminal serves several thousand workers each year as they travel to and from offshore installations in the North Sea. The company provides offshore transport on six continents and regularly serves major oil and gas firms.
Last month, CHC revealed that it had secured a new contract with Centrica to provide helicopter services in support of a forthcoming drilling program at the Fogelberg field in the Norwegian Sea.
The award followed several contract wins in 2017, including a two-year contract to support one of Australia’s largest oil and gas companies, Quadrant Energy, a deal with Faroe Petroleum to support its exploration drilling program at the Brasse Field in the North Sea, and a two-year contract extension with Shell Aberdeen for services in support of their UK Continental Shelf operations.
