BHP Awards Mexico Deepwater Contract
A subsidiary of BHP Petroleum has contracted a unit of DORIS Engineering to provide engineering services for the Trion Project in the Mexican Sector of the Gulf of Mexico, DORIS reported Monday.
Under the contract from BHP Billiton Petroleo Operaciones de Mexico, S. De R. L. De C.V., DORIS Inc. will execute engineer services for Trion’s subsea, umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) and export pipeline scopes, DORIS stated in a written statement emailed to Rigzone.
“This project is a strategic win for DORIS Group,” commented Christophe Deboouvry, DORIS Group’s CEO. “It is the recognition of our strong experience in deepwater developments, it complements our portfolio in Mexico and it strengthens our relationship with BHP.”
BHP operates Trio and holds a 60-percent interest in the field, located in the Perdido belt in approximately 8,432 feet (2,570 meters) of water. PEMEX Exploracion and Production owns a 40-percent stake in Trion, which covers a 798-square-mile (1,285-square-kilometer) area.
