Drilling rig and oilfield equipment manufacturer Bentec, a unit of drilling contractor KCA Deutag, reported Wednesday that it has second a contract for seven land rigs from a subsidiary of Russia’s Irkutsk Oil Co.

Germany-based Bentec stated the “multi-million euro” contract with the oilfield service firm INK calls for the manufacture of seven latest-generation 320t cluster slider rigs.

“We are proud to announced this new contract with INK-Service Group,” Bentec CEO Dirk Schulze said in a written statement emailed to Rigzone. “We know the Russian market very well and our innovative drilling rigs are ideally suited to the extreme weather Russia experiences.”

Bentec will manufacture the high-performance land rigs at its production site in Tyumen, Russia, the company noted. The company also stated the rigs will include recently launched integrity and optimization software and other late-model equipment. In addition, Bentec noted that it will provide crews with full training at the Tyumen site and support the field start-up.

“This is an exciting project for us and we are very much looking forward to working with our new client and supporting them as they drive to improve the efficiency of their drilling operations,” said Schulze.

Bentec stated it expects to deliver the first three rigs next year and the remaining four in 2021.
