Aker Wins $200MM CNOOC Subsea Order
Aker Solutions receives a notification of award for orders valued at more than $205 million from the China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

Aker Solutions announced Tuesday that it has received a notification of award for orders valued at more than $205 million (NOK 1.7 billion) from the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) to provide the subsea production system and umbilicals for the Lingshui 17-2 gas field.

The subsea production system for the field consists of 11 horizontal subsea trees, four manifolds, topside and subsea control system and a vertical tie-in connection system. More than 43 miles of static and dynamic umbilicals are included in the work scope.

The global project will involve Aker Solutions' facilities in Malaysia, Norway and the United Kingdom. The delivery for the subsea production system and umbilicals will be from the second half of 2019 to 2020 and the order will be booked in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Lingshui 17-2 is located in water depths of up to around 4,920 feet. The field is situated in the South China Sea, off the Hainan Province.

"We are pleased to extend our partnership with CNOOC in China to the Lingshui gas field and leverage our global deepwater capabilities," Luis Araujo, chief executive officer of Aker Solutions, said in a company statement.

"Our complete offering of a subsea production system and umbilicals will enable CNOOC to reduce costs and maximize the production of the field,” he added.

Earlier this month, Aker announced that it had signed a contract with Petrobras to provide a subsea production system and related services for the Mero 1 project within the Mero field development.

Back in August, Aker revealed that it had won orders to deliver power umbilical systems CNOOC’s Liuhua oil fields in the South China Sea, as well as a “major services contract” in Brazil to provide maintenance and modifications services for nine platforms at oil and gas fields in the Campos Basin.
