Aberdeenshire Oilfield Services Firm Plans to Bolster Workforce
Aberdeenshire oilfield services firm, John Bell Pipeline Equipment Company Limited (JBPECL), has revealed plans for expansion amid its 40 year anniversary celebrations.
The company wants to further expand business activities and plans to increase the size of its 100,000 square foot site in Inverurie, Scotland, as well as bolster its workforce, in order to meet “the ever-increasing demands and requirements” of its customers across the globe, according to a company statement.
It is not known exactly how many new employees the company plans to hire or when. JBPECL was not immediately available for comment.
The company is not currently recruiting, according to its website, although it was actively looking for a number of new employees on its LinkedIn page a few months ago.
“Although there has been a change in company ownership three times during its existence, the ethics and values of the company have remained intact,” Mark Anderson, sales manager at JBPECL, said in a company statement.
“This ethos has never changed and has really laid the foundations for the company and continues to be the cornerstone of the company’s success and longevity,” he added.
Part of the international Bianco Group, JBPECL operates from sites at Inverurie and Grangemouth. The company describes itself as a ‘key’ service provider to the North Sea and Aberdeen, and states that it is making ‘global footprints’ in regions including Algeria, Azerbaijan and the Middle East.
In the midst of what it describes as ‘the hardest industry recession ever’, JBPECL won more than $7.8 million (GBP 6 million) worth of contracts since the start of 2017.
To mark its 40 year anniversary JBPECL hosted a party at its site in Inverurie for employees, families, customers and local suppliers. As part of the celebrations, a charity collection and raffle was held for nominated charities Alzheimers Scotland, Childrens Hospice Association Scotland and Diabetes Research.
“We are delighted to mark the anniversary and at the same time reward employees for all their hard work over the years,” JBPECL General Manager, Rory Machray, said in a company statement.
“The anniversary has come at an important point for us all, following what has been a very challenging period. We now look ahead to the next forty years with future developments and growth plans already set,” he added.
JBPECL supplies offshore and onshore pipeline equipment.
