Valerie has more than a decade of journalism experience writing for both print and online publications in the Houston area. She spent five years covering the oil and gas industry for Rigzone where she began as careers editor, reporting on employment and workforce trends, before being promoted to senior editor, in which she reported on the upstream sector in North America. She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
