SMS is a "one-stop-shop" solution for health, safety and training to the petroleum and construction industries. Our mission is to offer assistance to our clients by helping them achieve an injury-free work environment. SMS has developed a Medical Care Person in Charge Program to prepare our paramedics to function effectively in remote locations. The Program has been designed to broaden the physical assessment skills of the Paramedic to effectively evaluate nonemergency complaints and properly relay findings to shore-based physicians to recommend a course of treatment. The focus is to educate the paramedic in identifying abnormalities, and then become the "eyes and hands" of the physician. SMS also offers a proactive solution to maintaining a safe work environment. Our safety personnel consist of Fire Prevention Specialists, Safety Technicians, NORM Compliance Specialists and Safety & Environmental Consulting Services. These personnel provide the customer with assessments, reports and solutions to meet all state and federal regulations. The SMS Training Academy provides a comprehensive list of safety and regulatory compliance training. The facility includes; 15 large multimedia classrooms, computer-based training lab, on-site restaurant, comfortable 120 person living quarters, on-site fire school, Sea Survival training pool with METS, 30-ton pedestal crane and recreational facilities with convenient wireless access throughout the facilities.
