Hurricane Looking for New Chairman, Directors
Thursday Dec 07, 2017

UK based oil and gas company Hurricane Energy plc revealed Thursday that it is looking for a new non-executive chairman for its board.

Once a non-executive chairman has been appointed, the company said it will seek to appoint additional independent non-executive directors.

Such appointments will be made with input from the new chairman, and will aim to ensure the board, and its committees, have the appropriate balance of ‘skills, experience, independence and knowledge,’ according to a Hurricane statement.

Hurricane revealed last month that it was exploring the possibility of a premium listing, which directors said could provide the company with a more appropriate platform for its growth.

In addition to news of the potential premium listing, Hurricane announced that a sub-committee of the board had been established, titled the Listing and Governance Committee (LGC), to evaluate the company's organization and governance structure and ‘provide recommendations for changes that will better suit the ongoing requirements of a company of Hurricane's scale and growth profile’.
