Russia's Gazprom Neft Begins Seaborne Oil Shipments from Arctic Field
Thursday Aug 21, 2014

MOSCOW, Aug 21 (Reuters) – Russia's Gazprom Neft said on Thursday it had started seaborne shipments of oil to Europe from its Novoportovskoye field in the Arctic.

The oil arm of Russian gas producer Gazprom said a sea tanker would deliver oil to Europe in September.

It said more than 80,000 tonnes of the new Novy Port oil classification, light and low-sulphur, was scheduled to be delivered from the field by two tankers during the 2014 ice-free season.

The field is one of the largest oil and gas condensate deposits being developed in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area (YNAO).
