Well Control School

Well Control School (WCS) offers IADC and IWCF accredited well control training for drilling, workover/completion, coiled tubing, snubbing and wireline operations. WCS courses are available in instructor-led, web-based and computer-based format, and are accredited by IACET for CEU credits at the introductory, fundamental and supervisory levels.


System 21 e-Learning
System21

The System 21 e-Learning program provided by Well Control School uses interactive tasks and role-playing techniques to familiarize students with well control concepts. These self-paced courses are available in web-based and computer-based format. This program offers significant cost savings, as training is available at any location and any time around the world with 24/7 customer support.


Classroom Training

Well Control School provides IADC and IWCF accredited courses led by certified subject-matter experts with years of field experience. Courses are offered at its training facilities in Houston, Texas; Lafayette, Louisiana; and Laurel, Mississippi.


Custom Training

Well Control School (WCS) offers training courses tailored to your organization's specifications. WCS will design the curriculum and presentation materials to host onsite, at one of WCS' training facilities or online.


Instructor-Led Courses

IADC WellCAP® Drilling: A competency-based training course that addresses the basic principles and theories of well control and presents the most commonly used well control techniques, including simulators for hands-on training. This course is designed for Drilling Superintendents, Toolpushers, Drillers, Assistant Drillers, Floormen, Derrickmen, Roughnecks, Asset Managers, Service Company Personnel, Consultants and Engineers. Levels: Introductory, Fundamental, Supervisory. Course Duration: 3 – 4 days; CEUs: 2.0 – 2.5

IADC WellCAP® Workover/Well Completion: A competency-based course that addresses commonly used well control techniques with workover operations and provides instruction on maintaining control of the well during workover/completion operations. This course is designed for Superintendents, Supervisors, Toolpushers, Operators, Helpers, Asset Managers, Service Company Personnel, Consultants and Engineers. Levels: Introductory, Fundamental, Supervisory. Course Duration: 3 – 4 days; CEUs: 2.0 – 2.5

IADC WellCAP® Well Servicing: This course presents the three basic remedial operations of snubbing, wireline and coiled tubing practices. This course is designed for Superintendents, Supervisors, Toolpushers, Operators, Helpers, Asset Managers, Service Company Personnel, Consultants and Engineers. Levels: Introductory, Fundamental, Supervisory. Course Duration: 4 – 5 days; CEUs: 3.4 – 3.7

IADC WellCAP® Coiled Tubing: This course provides the foundation for knowledge of pressure control during coiled tubing operations. Students use coiled tubing simulators for hands-on experience with handling actual well control situations. This course is designed for CT Supervisors, CT Operators, Asset Managers, Consultants and Engineers. Levels: Introductory, Fundamental, Supervisory. Course Duration: 4 – 5 days; CEUs: 3.4 – 3.7

IWCF Rotary Drilling: This internationally recognized certification program focuses on the equipment, principles and procedures for Surface BOP Stack Operations or Combined Surface/Subsea BOP Stack Operations based on the IWCF Certification Standards. This course is designed for Drilling Superintendents, Toolpushers, Drillers, Assistant Drillers, Asset Managers, Consultants and Engineers involved in international operations. Course Durations: 5 Days; CEUs: 3.6

GAP Analysis Program: The Gap Analysis Program, as known as Quiz Maker, generates custom examinations for well control applications for training and skill evaluation purposes. The program helps companies meet the requirements set by the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcements (BSEE) training regulations for continuous testing and on-the-job training.
