Introductory

Category: Introductory       Length: 8 hours       CEUs: 0.8
WCS Certified Drilling, Workover-Completion Surface covers the basic concepts associated with synthetic and naturally occurring pressures that can impact a well during the drilling phase, as well as the equipment and fluids used in workover and completion operations for surface wells. The types of fluids used in the drilling phase are discussed, with emphasis on the consequences of intentional and unintentional modification of fluid characteristics. Also, this course explains the most common well control methods, as well as the causes, detection and theories of kicks. Specific procedures and crew assignments for critical operations such as well shut-in and killsheet preparations are discussed as they relate to individual rigs. Upon completion of the course and a passing test score, the student will receive a WCS Certified certificate.
