Description

CURVEFIT is a program for fitting experimental data to various Polynomials, Splines and Lagrange interpolating functions. CURVEFIT quickly calculates best fit coefficients and plots result on the screen or printer. A set of X and Y values are supplied by the user and the type of curve fit desired is selected. A least square fit is generated for an assumed polynomial function. The degree of the algebraic polynomial may be specified from 1 to 5. Once the coefficients are calculated any value of X can be specified to determine the corresponding value of Y using one of the four interpolation methods.

For interpolating data, options provided are Linear, Lagrange and Cubic Splines. Data is entered using an Excel style spreadsheet. Data can be imported and exported to Excel format.

CURVEFIT can be run on Pentium and Athlon based computers with a CD-ROM drive and a minimum 32 MB RAM running Microsoft Windows 95/98, Windows NT/2000/XP.
