WILDCAT ADS SYSTEM COMPONENTS We take the opportunity of writing to you to highlight some basic background information about The Wildcat Automated Drilling System. The Wildcat ADS is under the banner of National Oilwell / Varco Company, as it was acquired in June 2004. This system is the only Patented Autodriller with Delta-P function. This Delta-P controller is responsible for making the autodriller an intelligent, bit- responsive machine, which works with incredible and never known before accuracy in delivering the weight desired to the bit, thus keeping it engaged always with the rock until the joint or stand is drilled off. WOB obviously is the most important parameter in a drilling operation and leaving it to the decision of a human leaves much uncertainty about accuracy and consistency. By pr?cising the weight delivery, the driller is able to drive the bit and Mud Motor at optimum performance yielding longer service life, less bit trips and less trips for failed motors, plus more on-target directional profiles. Torque and drag are reduced, rotating is increased compared to sliding, and a faster Rate of Penetration is always obtained. Even in manual drilling tests against auto-drilling, with the driller trying all his best, the machine always win, and in high percentage. The zero accident record since 1993 adds value and enhances safety and reliability. Decreasing the physical stress on the drillers improves HSE conditions, and because of consistent weight delivery from shift to shift regardless of the driller, the Wildcat soon becomes an indispensable set of tools to any drilling personnel experiencing it..
