Remote-Region Survival Research was established as a foundation for developing and promoting proper systems of pre-hospital care, when dealing with seriously injured people in remote areas.
As a component of this proper system of care, the Remote Area Trauma Life Support (R.A.T.L.S.) course was developed. The aim being to maximise the survivability of seriously injured people.
Since its launch the R.A.T.L.S. course has been continually updated and developed to ensure that it remains at the leading edge of evidence based, pre-hospital care, trauma protocols whilst still answering the concerns of those who work and travel in remote areas.
Remote-Region Survival Research is the only company able to offer the Remote Area Trauma Life Support (R.A.T.L.S.) course; as approved by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and approved by The Health & Safety Executive (First Aid Regulations 1981) under the approved code of practice E64:97 14 March 1997.
