The Stratum Control System (SCS) consists of hardware, software, and networking components from Stratum Control Partners such as Advantech, Merit Electrical, Panelmatic, ObjectAutomation, and Toshiba. The SCS, which is designed to automate, control, coordinate, monitor, and optimize industrial operations and processes, allows for:
- An Open Control Environment comprised of easily replaceable standard hardware and software modules that enable open connectivity and open standards.
- True Interoperability between enterprise-wide business applications, automation and control products, field systems and devices via the use of industry standard databases and protocols, including OPC.
- Development and deployment of reusable, object-based "Automation Libraries," each a collection of components that provide graphical, all-encompassing Control, HMI, Alarms, Historical, Maintenance, and Documentation representations of "objects" or a real-world devices or processes. Automation Libraries are utilized anywhere in the three-tier architecture based on customer requirements. Thus, the behavior of an object is defined once, and then used over and over again.
The Stratum Control System provides seamless integration and interchangeability of a number of hardware devices (Industrial PCs, controllers, I/O, sensors, actuators, etc.) and utilizes standard open application program interfaces. This allows our customers to choose a total solution comprised of diverse hardware and software components that meet their automation, control, and operational intelligence needs.
The system is also very customizable and allows for unlimited scalability and extensibility. This gives our customers a high degree of configurability for a tailored fit, whether the solution is for the control and monitoring of multiple and varied global operations or for a single industrial process.
