The Institute for Mapping Technology offers training on GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software. Specifically, the use of GIS in the oil and gas industry and also in geology. Currently, we offer one day classes throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. We also offer in-house customized training for corporations. We specialize on training with open source software, so that students won't have to purchase expensive GIS software. Open source GIS is now powerful enough to replace ESRI's Arcview in most cases.
