The Spencer Boatyard was established on the banks of the Miami River, just prior to the start of World War ll, where it built quality fishing boats and various other types of working vessels. When the war began, the yard was contracted for routine maintenance on some of the naval craft that were stationed in the area.
The name still lives and the present management is still dedicated to continuing the rich history of the original artisans who crafted husky, able vessels built to accomplish any assigned task.
