Seven Seas Petroleum Inc. is an independent energy company engaged in the exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas in Colombia, South America. The Company focuses its efforts and resources on the "Guaduas field" oil discovery, located in Colombia's prolific Magdalena basin and defined by the Dindal and Rio Seco association contracts. Formed in 1995, Seven Seas has gone from having small interests in a number of exploration projects around to world with zero proved reserves to becoming the operator and 57.7% owner of the Guaduas field. As of December 31, 1999, the Guaduas field had gross proved reserves of 154.0 million barrels of oil ("MMBO"), of which 34.9 MMBO are attributable to Seven Seas.Quick Facts
