Petrotechnical Resources of Alaska (PRA) was founded in 1997 by a group of five independent consultants. Currently managed by Chris Livesey and Tom Walsh, PRA has grown into a group of over 60 affiliated geologists, geophysicists, and petroleum engineers.
Most of PRA's affiliates have in excess of 20 years in the oil industry with the bulk of that experience in Alaska. PRA's geoscientists and engineers have worked in every basin in Alaska in both exploration and development projects. The PRA staff know and understand the regional geology, the unique operating conditions, and the regulatory environment. From the North Slope to Cook Inlet, PRA knows how to get the job done.
PRA has a state-of-the-art geoscience workstation, and is developing an in-house well database complete with logs and production data. This capability allows smaller companies to enjoy the same advantages in Alaskan exploration that previously were available only to large integrated oil companies.
