AO Tatneft is an open joint stock company organised under the laws of Russia and Tatarstan. We were privatised in 1994. Substantially all of our production and operations are in Tatarstan, a republic of Russia situated between the Volga River and the Ural Mountains. Tatarstan is one of the most developed regions in Russia, and has recently demonstrated stable economic growth. Currently, we hold most of the exploration and production licenses, and produce substantially all the crude oil in Tatarstan.
