Noble Affiliates, Inc. is one of the major independent oil and gas exploration and development companies located in the United States. With oil and gas reserves totaling 332.5 million barrels of oil equivalent, Noble ranked 27 in the Oil and Gas Journal's Listing of the top 200 oil and gas companies in the United States. Noble is heavily focused on gas; domestically over 73% of the company's production is gas. Internationally gas is also our major focus, it is the critical component in our methanol project in Equatorial Guinea, and it represents our major assets in both Ecuador and Israel.
The company operates in three basic areas Domestic Onshore, Domestic Offshore and International. Onshore operations are principally conducted in Colorado, Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Offshore activities are principally in the Gulf of Mexico offshore of Louisiana and Texas. International projects are being undertaken in Equatorial Guinea, Ecuador, Israel, Argentina, China, and the North Sea.
The company has a successful record of reserve growth with reserves growing over 389% since 1987 for an annualized growth of almost 30%. Reserves increased every year since 1987 (excluding asset sales) except for 1998 where a combination of downward reserve revisions, stimulated by a poor pricing environment, and disappointments in a number of deep-water projects resulted in reserves declining from 1997 levels.
