( www.aiinc.ca ), has developed the On Scene Coordinator's Advisor for Responding to oil spills ( OSCAR ), which you can evaluate free of charge at www.myacquire.com/aiinc/oscar. OSCAR is a custom-made, web-based marine oil spill expert system ( MOSES ). Expert systems are a type of decision support software which captures and represents the knowledge of experts on the computer for easy retrieval. They can speed up decision-making, and increase the chances of making the right decision. They can save responders time and money.
