Munich-based E.ON Energie AG was formed on July 13, 2000, by the tie-up of PreussenElektra and Bayernwerk. It is Europe's largest private power company. The company will oversee the Group's electricity, gas and water activities. The erngy group's subsidiaries are responsible for managing day-to-day business.
Along with its Aral subsidiary (www.aral.de), VEBA Oel is Germany's leading petroleum group. Beginning in August 2000, VEBA Oel will be aligned in three strong and independent business units: Marketing, Refining & Petrochemicals, and Exploration & Production.
