Carthago is the E&P branch of an integrated Tunisian business and industrial conglomerate. Created in 1993 and registered under the laws of Tunisia. The company is holder and operator of an exploration licence in Northern Tunisia in the Mediterranean Thrust Belt located near several oil and gas dicoveries in Tunisia and Sicily. The block results from the merging of two previous licences and covers 4,956 km? (1.125 Million acres) and includes seven prospects and leads. The work program consists in the shooting of 150 km of additional seismic and the drilling of one well to about 2500 m. Carthago is seeking partners for completing this program and offers to farm out up to 50% of its interests in the licence.
The web site has been recently launched following the official gazetting of the block with the objective to support this farm-out operation. The company has subsidiaries in Egypt and Canada.
