History
IDM Equipment, LLC was founded in 1986 by David L. Huntington and Norman S. Myers to provide complete electrical and mechanical services to the oil drilling industry. Myers and Huntington were the founders and owners of IDM Controls, Inc., a supplier of control systems and automation services established in 1973.

IDM Equipment evolved from a service and repair company into a supplier of complete drilling rigs and integrated systems. IDM’s experience with drilling rigs and automation controls provides a unique capability to incorporate proven technology from other industries into modern drilling systems

Facilities
IDM Equipment's fifteen acre complex is located in Northwest Houston. The facilities include administrative offices, control systems manufacturing plant, structural fabrication, drilling equipment manufacturing, mechanical service & repair shop, assembly plant and three rig-up yards. IDM Equipment, LLC is API certified 7K and 4F.
