Through its long-standing joint venture with Shell, Brunei has produced oil and natural gas for several decades, primarily from two large, mature fields – Southwest Ampa and Champion – in the offshore Baram Delta. The country's proven oil reserves are estimated at 1.1 billion barrels, while proven natural gas reserves are around 10.2 Tcf.
Cementing a well is the procedure of developing and pumping cement into the wellbore. It is part of the process of preparing a well for further drilling, production or abandonment. Cementing can be used to permanently shut off water penetration into the well, to seal the annulus after a casing string is run, to seal a lost circulation zone, or to plug an existing well.
