Shell's Scotford are looking for experienced Millwright Craft Team Members. These positions will be located at the Scotford Complex located northeast of Edmonton, Alberta, and will report to the Area Maintenance Team Lead. As a Millwright at Shell Scotford time will be spent in 3 different areas of Maintenance, Unit based field crew, Repair Facility, and Compressor Overhaul Crew.

Specific Accountabilities Include:

  • Maintenance and overhauls on vertical pumps, overhung pumps, between bearing pumps, steam and power turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors
  • Excellent knowledge of compressor auxiliary systems, hydraulic and pneumatic unloaders, cylinder lubrication, and prognosis of monitoring system
  • Duel ticket is an asset
  • Experience in SAP, GSAP CMMS systems is an asset
  • Equipment installation, foundation prep, leveling, grouting and final installation of pumps and compressors
  • Laser alignment
  • Trouble shooting of equipment and auxiliary systems
  • Experience with oil mist systems
  • Must be able to work under high stress situations and pressure with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Work with all styles or mechanical seals and the ability to trouble shoot the various seal plans including dry gas seals
  • Work with minimal supervision

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Alberta Journeyman Millwright with Red Seal
  • 5 -10+ years as a ticketed Journeyman Millwright
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Maintenance experience in an industrial environment is a requirement
  • Strong safety consciousness and situational awareness in all that the Craft Team Member does.
  • Very good safety record and a safety mindset
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Cooperative, constructive approach to situations that speaks to the Craft Team Member’s respect and consideration of others
  • Possesses interpersonal skills to deal with a wide range of people, in a wide range of situations, often in the context of a team environment
  • Demonstrates ability to perform under pressure
  • Willingness to share knowledge with co-workers and train apprentices
  • Commitment to continuous learning
  • Competent in standard computer operations and Microsoft Office
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and be on-call to respond to emergencies when required
  • Willing to work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Willing to work a rotating shift schedule
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Must reside within the area or be willing to relocate
  • Using safe lifting techniques, able to lift and carry 20 kg from ground to waist level
  • Ability to work safely wearing a respirator or Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
