Reporting to the Corporate Credit Manager, this position will provide domestic and export credit support to client's Chemical companies. This position will supervise six Credit Analysts for the combined client and new client's Chemical Portfolio along with handling a small group of key accounts. The position will assist the corporate credit manager in overseeing a portfolio which averages $600MM in accounts receivables, with approximately 1,200 active customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Supervise six credit analysts and ensure each are properly working their assigned credit & collection portfolio within GetPaid software.
*Work small portfolio of key accounts with the GetPaid software as assigned by management.
*Coordinate monthly reporting for client's Chemical division and report to Treasury and Sales Management. Report monthly trade tapes to outside vendors such as D&B, Cortera, etc.
*Ensure group is meeting key performance metrics regarding DSO, percent current and bad debt write offs.
*Assist Corporate Credit Manager in preparing quarterly bad debt reserve.
*Investigate, analyze, document and the credit worthiness of potential and existing customers and establish a credit limits within the prescribed delegation of authority. Make recommendations on credit line increased to management on accounts above delegation of authority.
*Call CFO's or Controllers to obtain financial statements for private customers or coordinate customer visits with the sales force to obtain financial information on large or problem credits.
*Coordinate with legal department regarding non-disclosure agreements and parental guarantees.
*In the event open terms cannot be extended, secure the transaction or work with Sales to find the most cost effective manner to complete sale within acceptable risk parameters.
*Negotiate payment plans as needed with past due customer per the DOA guidelines.
*Work with outside attorney's as needed regarding bankrupt accounts.
*Confirm that incoming Letters of Credit accurately state the terms and conditions of sale and that the proposed issuing bank's financial position and LC format is acceptable and does not unduly expose the Company.
*Assist the Treasury Group in issuing and monitoring outgoing new and outstanding letters of credit and surety bonds in support of the company's sale of product.
*Determine, in a timely manner, if orders can be released when the customer's AR balance is delinquent or over credit limit.
*Verify receipt of payments and assist cash applications to ensure that payments have been properly applied to receivables and that short payments are documented for research by Sales and Customer Service.
*Maintain accurate credit files and collection files. Maintain electronic audit trails of collection efforts with notes detailed and documented on each customer account.
*Responsible for the training of new employees on all software necessary to perform the job and to cross train other Treasury employees.
*Participate in major company/departmental projects and take an active role in cross functional teams as needed.

- Corporate Credit experience required
- In depth financial statement analysis, letters of credit, and other forms of securitizing amounts owed to the Company
- Poses an ability to prioritize duties, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail
- Must possess strong analytical skills and be proficient using Word, Excel
- PowerPoint and SAP REQUIRED
- 'GetPaid' experience is a plus
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
*Requires Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field.
*Requires 5 years minimum credit analysis experience preferably in the chemical, plastics or related industry.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel up to 20% including air travel or auto travel.
