Job Summary: 

This position is located in The Woodlands, TX as a member of the Corporate Credit & Collections business unit. The individual will be responsible for the establishment, maintenance and monitoring of credit lines extended to their respective vendors, customers and counterparties on behalf of the various business units of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.


  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a financial position is required.

  • Work experience from an oil/gas company is highly preferred.

  • Ability to perform financial analysis, manage credit support and communicate with counterparties and trading floor personnel.

  • Understanding and functional use of a Form 10-K report

  • Working knowledge of security instruments such as letters of credit, bank guaranties and parent guaranties.

  • Ability to perform a financial analysis using a standard set of financial statements including the balance sheet, the operating statement, the statement of cash flows and notes

  • Ability to work in both individual and team environment with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a self-motivating attitude

  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail, quality, and timeliness and ensuring accurate work output


  • Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis relying on financial statements and other data to establish, monitor, and report on counterparty credit exposures and limits.

  • Review, recommend, and adjust counterparty credit limits as business or market conditions warrant.

  • Evaluate and determine the creditworthiness of potential customers and counterparties

  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with external counterparties and internal stakeholders

  • Secure credit support documents (e.g. Letters of Credit, Guaranties, etc.) when necessary

  • Provide real-time commercial support to Marketing floor

  • Negotiate credit terms in contracts and agreements

  • Prepare daily/weekly credit reports including MTM & CDS Summary



    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required.


    This position is not eligible for relocation.

    This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule
