Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure, Inc. seeks a Construction Analyst/Technician to work in Dallas, TX, and perform field inspections and observations for a variety of projects. Draft detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects and ensure conformance to specifications. Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities using calculator or computer; read and review project blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements; confer with supervisor to determine project details such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions; inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect design malfunctions and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes; develop plans and estimate costs for installation of systems, utilization of facilities, or construction of structures; prepare reports and document project activities and data; respond to public suggestions and complaints; report maintenance problems occurring at project site to supervisor and negotiate changes to resolve system conflicts; evaluate facility to determine suitability for occupancy and square footage availability; analyze proposed site factors and design maps, graphs, tracings, and diagrams to illustrate findings; and plan and conduct field surveys to locate new sites and analyze details of project sites.

Skills / Qualifications

Must have 12 years of experience in a related position within the Construction Material Testing Industry.


Experience must include: (i) Construction Materials Testing, Environmental/Geotechnical Investigations, and Health and Safety Coordination; (ii) performing reinforced steel, pier, and roofing inspections; (iii) logging boreholes and obtaining environmental and geotechnical samples in the field using proper chain of custody procedures; and (iv) performing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.


Must also possess: (i) ACI certifications to perform appropriate construction material testing/inspections, including ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1, PTI certified level 1 and 2, Troxler, or equivalent certification; (ii) health and safety certifications, including 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper, 10-hour/30-hour Construction Health and Safety certification, and USACE Safety and Health Coordination certification; (iii) current TDSHS Asbestos Inspector certification; and (iv) valid driver’s license.


Must be able to work outside normal business hours, as required, willing to travel, as well as pass a drug test, physical, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
