~~We are currently seeking a Fire & Gas Engineer for a leading Anchorage- based oil and gas services company. Our client offers a full range of services for all phases of the oilfield lifecycle, from exploration, permitting and field development to production optimization and decommissioning, as well as offshore oil equipment and resources.

The Fire & Gas Engineer is primarily responsible for preparing and overseeing the completion of technical deliverables for all project phases following our client's established engineering principles, procedures, and criteria for testing of fire and gas detection and suppression systems. The selected candidate will be reviewing and designing engineering drawings and ensuring conformance to client documents, fire and gas control philosophies, applicable codes and industry standard requirements.

The Fire & Gas Engineer is also responsible for:

- Preparing system specifications, MTOs and purchase requisitions

- Providing quality reviews on engineering calculations

- Developing and writing engineering scopes of work and project change requests

- Preparing estimates for all project phases

- Developing and reviewing schedules for assigned projects

- Applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria

- Gathering and recording information for writing specifications and preparing technical reports

- Reporting project performance using earned value terms

- Reviewing vendor bids to ensure compliance with project design specifications

- Coordinating and performing quality control of CAD work prepared by designers

- Preparing engineering packages from inception to as- builts

- Evaluating field problems and providing solutions

- Developing project completion documents

- Ensuring personnel comply with our client and customer policies and procedures

- Providing leadership and education in a zero- incident safety culture and assuming personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities and operations

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

- 3- 7+ years of instrumentation, fire and gas and petro- chemical engineering experience, with prior work in arctic oil fields, oil and gas separation plants, pipeline facilities, gathering stations and/or processing plants preferred

- Prior experience in the design and installation of fire and gas alarm signaling systems and related devices

- Must be proficient in creating fire and gas control philosophies, cause and effect drawings, interpreting, reviewing and develop fire and gas detection drawings, evaluating field installations and recommending design modifications, writing and training field personnel on standard operating procedures

- An active Alaska Professional Engineer (PE) License and/or Alaska State Fire Permit, Level IC-DO is strongly preferred
