The Senior Grinding Engineer's specific duties will include the following:
Support and consult cement plants in the field of production and process engineering with special focus on mills (Ball mills & VRM), roller press, separators and expert systems:
Organize performance tests and plant audits (including Heat & Mass Balance) to identify technical problems and bottlenecks
Evaluate measuring results and advice for improvements to maximize performance
Develop grinding improvement initiatives and set plant specific targets for cost reduction
Evaluate operational coefficients
Optimize production facilities
Provide process-related and operational techniques for environmental impact reduction
Perform training and knowledge sharing in WSE area on operational techniques (Trouble shooting), process related new development in grinding.
Initiate corrective actions on non-performing mills
Support Master and Capex plans procedures
Work on investment and non-investment projects:
feasibility/profitability study (IRR, NPV, EVA)
select the most suitable grinding technology and equipment
lead or participate in the commissioning and performance testing
Support acquisition projects by evaluating cement plants and supporting technical due diligence
Support and fertilize group-wide knowledge management in the field of production and process engineering
Bachelor's degree in engineering is required (Chemical, Process, Industrial)
Minimum 10 years professional experience in process engineering in different leading positions in the cement industry, if possible work experience in a foreign country
Very good knowledge of all process, production, quality and environmental aspects in cement industry, especially in Comminution
Good cost awareness in terms of business economics
Strong operational knowledge
Good communication skills
Fluency in English, knowledge of other languages is an asset
Multicultural experience and understanding
Willingness to travel extensively
